Loving Life

Gardening has a funny way of changing the way you think about certain things in life. For me it has made me more appreciative of all forms of life, whether they be big or small, human or animal, mammal or sinsect. I should add that ORGANIC gardening does this, not conventional, kill everything that crawls, flies, digs or walks onto my land type of gardening.

Day 1 of Juice Feasting

Alright so I made it through day one of my 10 day juice fast!  Not too bad, only realy problem I have is that I'm craving cheese and crackers or chick-fil-a.  Other than that I feel fine, good energy levels etc.  I just feel like I need to be chewing something, guess it's a habit I need to break :)

Juice FEASTING!

So I'm doing a 10 day juice fast!  This is me the night before the first day of the fast.  I had gone on a walk to collect some prickly pear fruits and tried to juice them when everything just went horribly wrong! lol  Hope some one can learn from my mistake! haha

May Garden Update

Here's a few pictures I've snapped around the garden this month.  Everything seems to be doing well!

Overview of the backyard at the beginning of May 2011.

Quinoa is doing very well for being in unfortunately poor soil :/

Ditching Taters

Here's a quick video showing how I"m planting my potatoes this year.  First time growing potatoes, will be excited to see if it works!

Foods that Kill

This is probably the best talk I've listened about why eating a diet high in animal fats just doesn't make sense. Everyone should listen if you haven't already. It explains everything!

Winter Farmer's Market HAUL!

Hey Guys!

I always love getting to go to new farmer's markets and today I got to do just that!  Since I'm moving back over to my parent's side of town I wanted to make sure there was a farmer's market nearby for me to get veggies that I can't grow on my own.  I'm in luck!  There's one at the Leon Valley Community Center every single Wednesday from about 7:30am until they sell out.  Whoo Hoo!

Green Cuisine in San Antonio

YUM! Green Vegetarian Cuisine in San Antonio is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant. Even my boyfriend likes it!  We went there tonight by request of my boyfriend actually!

Have you met Greenling.com?

This definitely has to be one of my favorite new companies for 2010.  If you're in the Austin or San Antonio area you HAVE to go to their website and check them out! If you care about supporting local farmers but are like me and forget what day of the week it is, what farmer's markets are where and what days certain farmer's markets are on, then this is a dream come true!

Time for a Diagnosis

It's 3:15am and I am up having no fun.
